Heirs of Aziz Miled

After Aziz Miled died on November 7, 2012, his shares in all companies went to his heirs.

Aziz Miled, born in Kairouan in 1938, was a Tunisian businessman who worked since 1968 mainly in the tourism, hotel and aviation sectors.

In 2003, the airline company Nouvelair of Miled and Karthago Airlines of Belhassen Trabelsi, brother of the wife of President Ben Ali, start working together in operational assistance and operating their fleets. In August 2006, Miled and Trabelsi ask the company Edmond de Rothschild to study the feasibility of a merger between the two airlines. In the fall of 2008, the merger of the two companies is decided after reaching an agreement on the transfer of social rights of both companies and the suspension of trading of Karthago Airlines at the Tunis Stock Exchange following a buyout offer.

Karthago owns 21% and the Miled Group 79% of the new company. The constituent general meeting of the company is held on 25 December 2009. As of 28 January 2011, Miled is again CEO of Nouvelair replacing Trabelsi who fled to Canada following the Tunisian 2011 Revolution.

Aziz Miled is also associated with other relatives of former President Ben Ali, namely Sakher El Materi, son-in-law of the President, at the Zitouna Bank and the Mabrouk group. One of the heirs is a Marouane another son-in-law of the president, who is at the first private bank of the country, the Banque Internationale Arabe de Tunisie.

On the political level, Aziz Miled signed in 2010 two calls for a new candidacy of President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali (call of 65 and call of 1000). In 2009, he is member of the Central Committee of the Democratic Constitutional Rally (RCD).
