Zitouna TV

Zitouna is a general TV news channel close to the Islamist party Ennahda that broadcasts political religious and societal programs. It was created in 2012 by Osama bin Salem, son of an Ennahda leader and financed by businessman, Sami Essid. In 2014, the HAICA refuses to give the TV station a licence, in particular as the station had a direct relationship with a political party. The TV station, which is legally not allowed to exist, nowadays broadcasts with the Nile Sat satellite. It was sanctioned several times by the Tunisian authorities and threatened with seizure of his equipment.
